The Beginning
Founded in 1882 by Charles Thomas Poole, our practice has served the Sydney community for well over 140 years, built on a foundation of honesty, integrity and commitment. From its inception as CT Poole & Son, the firm has evolved through successive generations of leadership, always adapting to the changing legal landscape while remaining steadfast in delivering exceptional service.
A Family Legacy Grows
In 1914 Charles's son Leonard joined the practice and together they maintained the firm's dedication until Charles's passing in 1933. In 1966 the firm merged with Maurice Buckley Snr. and his son Maurice Jnr., becoming Maurice Buckley, CT Poole & Son — a union that strengthened our capacity and broadened our expertise.
New Leadership
By 1970, John Poole joined as partner and later assumed the role of principal when the Buckleys retired. In 1988 the practice moved from the Sydney CBD to Norberry Terrace in North Sydney, establishing a contemporary home in the heart of the North Shore.
A New Chapter
Most recently in 2021, John Poole embarked on a partnership with Philip Davis, a practitioner with more than 20 years' experience. In 2024 Philip became sole principal, with John remaining as consultant—continuing the legacy of experienced guidance and trusted service.
Continuing the Legacy
Throughout every change and milestone, our focus has remained constant: to handle wills and estates with care, resolve conveyancing matters with clarity and support executors and beneficiaries with integrity. We proudly serve clients at our North Shore offices, in their homes, hospitals or any location that suits them. Our long-standing presence is testament to our enduring commitment to you.
